# AI Automation Page and Library

> Find your automations, credits and drafts on the AI Automation page, and start from a ready-made automation in the Automation library.

**AI Automation** (in the dashboard's sidebar) is where every automation in your Switchboard
lives: the ones you made, drafts you haven't finished, how many credits they use, and the
**Automation library** of ready-made automations written by Avox. Links into the dashboard still
start with `/automation`.

## The AI Automation page

From top to bottom:

| Part | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Header** | **Docs**, **Library** (the Automation library) and **Create automation**, the page's main button. |
| **Your automations** | Every automation, with its trigger, how many steps it has, the credits it used this credit period (or the last 30 days), whether it's on, and when it was last edited. Click a name or **Manage** for its runs and credits, **Edit** to open the builder, or the switch to turn it on or off. Sort by newest, name, last edited or most credits. |
| **Unfinished drafts** | Automations you started in the wizard but didn't create yet (up to 10). **Continue** opens the wizard on the step you left. |
| **Overview** | How many automations you have of your plan's limit, how many are on, how many times they ran in the last 30 days, and your **automation credits** (below). |
| **Start from a premade** | A few automations from the library. **See all** opens the whole library. |

### Automation credits

The **Automation credits used** tile shows this period's credits: how many are used, when they
reset, and any bought credits still left. Two buttons sit right in the tile:

- **Top up** buys extra credits. They last 12 months and are used after your plan's own credits.
- **Upgrade** changes to a plan with more credits each month.

Both need the **Manage billing** permission; without it, the tile says to ask an Admin. When
credits run low the tile turns amber, and red once they run out (automated replies stop until

## The Automation library

Open it with **Library** at the top of the AI Automation page, **See all** under the premades, or
**Browse the library** when you have no automations yet.

- **Search** looks through each premade's name, description, category and extra words.
- **Categories** narrow the list: Sales and leads, Support, Bookings, Engagement and Opening
  hours. Each shows how many premades match your search. If nothing matches, **Clear filters**
  brings everything back.
- The search and category stay in the page's address, so you can share or reload a filtered list.

Every card says:

- what the automation does and its category,
- the most credits one run can use (or **Free to run**),
- whether it uses your tables or a connected app, and
- anything your Switchboard is missing for it, like an approved template, a published Flow,
  calling, a table made from the right premade table, or a connected app, with a link to fix
  it and the matching error code.

**Preview the chat** plays the automation as a WhatsApp conversation first, with sample values.
Click a card (or **Use this automation** in the preview) to open the wizard with everything
filled in. Check the steps, then create it. **Start from scratch** opens an empty wizard.

### When you can't create one

Cards and the **Create automation** button are switched off, and say why on hover, when:

| Situation | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Every automation your plan allows is used | Delete one you don't need (**Manage automations** highlights the switched-off ones), or upgrade. Code [AVX-3068](https://docs.theavoxai.com/error-codes/avx-3068). |
| Your plan doesn't include automations yet | Choose a plan in Billing, or ask an Admin to. |
| You don't have permission to manage automations | Ask an Admin of the Switchboard for access. |
| Creating automations was turned off for your account | Contact Avox support. |

You can still search the library and preview every premade in all of these cases.

## Creating, editing and the builder

- **Create automation** opens a three-step wizard: **Type** (what starts it), **Name** and
  **Build** (the steps). Blobatar sits next to the page title and reacts as you go.
- **Back to automations** is always the first button on the left, in the wizard, the builder
  and an automation's page.
- In the builder, the **Actions** panel on the right lists every step you can add. Search it, then
  drag a step onto the canvas or click it to add it at the end. See [Builder](https://docs.theavoxai.com/automation/builder).
