# Invoices and Payment History

> Where to find your Avox invoices, receipts, and full payment history, what each entry and status means, and which emails you get.

Source: https://docs.theavoxai.com/billing/invoices

Every payment you make for Avox produces an **invoice**, and every billing event - payments, renewals,
refunds, failed charges, plan changes, cancellations - is recorded in your **payment history**. Both live
in your dashboard; there's no separate billing portal to log in to.

## Where to find them

| Where | What's there |
| --- | --- |
| **Billing** | The **Invoices** table, under your plan. |
| **Billing > Manage subscription** | Your subscription's details, then **Payment history**, then **Invoices**. |

Both show the plan on your billing Switchboard (the first Switchboard you joined), whichever Switchboard
you're currently viewing. Every member can open these pages.

## What creates an invoice

Invoices are created automatically - you never have to ask for one. One is made when:

- The first payment of a Monthly or Yearly subscription goes through.
- Every monthly renewal payment goes through.
- A One-time payment for a full year is captured.
- An early-cancellation fee is paid (see [Cancel](https://docs.theavoxai.com/billing/cancel)).
- A business plan is paid through PayPal, or the Avox team marks a business plan as paid.
- A free coupon or gift switches a plan on - a $0 invoice, alongside a **Coupon or gift applied**
  email (see [Coupons and gifts](https://docs.theavoxai.com/billing/coupons-and-gifts)).

A discount code, including one from a retention offer, simply lowers the amount on the invoice of the
payment it's used on. Bonus credits and plans the Avox team adds for you directly don't create an
invoice, because nothing is paid; they show in your payment history instead.

## The Invoices list

Each row shows the invoice number (like `INV-000123`, numbered in order), the date, the status
(**Paid**, **Refunded**, **Partly refunded**) and the amount. With none yet, it says "No invoices yet."

## Opening an invoice

Click any invoice to open it in a large panel. It shows:

- The invoice number, issue date and status.
- The plan and billing cycle, and the period the payment covers.
- Line items: the plan price, any Yearly or One-time discount, any coupon, tax, and the total. Refunds
show as their own lines, with the net amount paid.
- How it was paid (PayPal, a coupon, or recorded by the Avox team) and the payment reference.
- Your billing details and Avox's details.

Two buttons sit at the top:

- **Download PDF** opens your browser's print window with a clean, printable invoice. Choose **Save as
  PDF** to keep a copy.
- **Email me this invoice** sends a copy to your own account email. You can send the same invoice
  again after 10 minutes.

Press **Esc** or click outside the panel to close it.

## Payment history

**Billing > Manage subscription > Payment history** lists every billing event, newest first. Wide rows
scroll sideways on a phone.

| Column | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Date** | When it happened. |
| **What** | The kind of event (below), with the plan name under it. |
| **Amount** | The amount. Refunds show with a minus sign. Events with no money involved (like a plan change) show "-". |
| **Status** | **Paid**, **Pending**, **Failed**, **Refunded**, **Partly refunded**, **Cancelled**, or **Voided** ("-" for record-only events). |
| **Invoice** | The invoice reference the event produced. Click it to open the invoice. |

on [Emails](https://docs.theavoxai.com/emails).

## Your billing details

Your business name and billing address are the ones in [Business](https://docs.theavoxai.com/settings/business) - the same details
you entered at checkout. Keep them up to date there.

## Getting a copy or a correction

To get a copy, open the invoice and use **Download PDF** or **Email me this invoice**. If something on
an invoice looks wrong, open a ticket in [Support](https://docs.theavoxai.com/support) under the **Billing** category with the
invoice reference.
