# Store apps: Shopify and WooCommerce

> Connect Shopify or WooCommerce so Avox can answer order status questions, list products with prices and stock, and get order updates.

Connect your store and Avox can look up an order's payment and delivery status, list your products
with prices and stock, and hear about order changes as they happen. Avox only reads from your store.

## Shopify

**What you need:** your store's myshopify.com address and permission to install apps on the store.

**1. Find your store's address**

In Shopify admin open **Settings**, then **Domains**, and copy the address ending in
`.myshopify.com` (even if customers use another domain).

**2. Connect**

Open **Connections**, then **Apps**, then **Shopify**, click **Connect**, paste the address and
click **Continue to Shopify**.

**3. Install**

Shopify shows what Avox may see: your orders and your products. Click **Install**. You come back to
Shopify's page in Avox.

- **Order status** finds an order by its number (`1001` or `#1001`) and returns its payment and
fulfilment status, total and tracking links. Shopify lets apps see orders from the last 60 days.
- **Products** lists active products by title, with the lowest price and whether they're in stock.
- Order updates arrive by themselves; nothing to set up.
- Uninstalling Avox in Shopify disconnects it in Avox too.

## WooCommerce

**What you need:** a WordPress site with WooCommerce, at an `https://` address on the internet.

**1. Create a key**

In WordPress open **WooCommerce**, then **Settings**, **Advanced**, **REST API**, and click **Add
key**. Pick a user, set **Permissions** to **Read**, and generate it. Copy the **Consumer key**
(`ck_...`) and **Consumer secret** (`cs_...`).

**2. Connect**

Open **WooCommerce** under Apps, click **Connect**, and paste your site's address and both keys.

**3. Turn on instant updates**

Copy Avox's address from **Instant updates**. In WooCommerce open **Settings**, **Advanced**,
**Webhooks**, and add a webhook: topic **Order updated** (and another for **Order created** if you
like), delivery URL Avox's address, and a secret of your own. Paste the same secret in Avox.

- **Order status** finds an order by its number, including stores that number orders differently.
- **Products** lists published products with their price and stock status.
- Avox only calls your store over `https://`, and only at public internet addresses.
- If your host blocks the usual sign-in header, Avox switches to WooCommerce's other way of sending
the key over `https://` by itself.
