Sign in to Avox with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key: creating a passkey, signing in with one, and removing it.
A passkey lets you sign in with your device's own unlock - Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key - instead of typing a password. There's no code to type and nothing to remember, and a passkey only works on the real avox.com, so it can't be phished.
Passkeys belong to your own account. Every member can add them, whatever their role.
Right after you create your account with an email and password, Avox offers one: Secure your account - "Set up a passkey now and you can skip the password next time - sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key instead."
If your device's prompt is cancelled or fails, the message appears on the same screen and you can try again or skip.
Open Settings > Security > Passkeys
The card lists your passkeys, or says "No passkeys yet on this account."
Click Add a passkey
Your browser or device asks you to confirm with your face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key.
Done
You see "Passkey added" and it appears in the list with its name (or just "Passkey") and the date it was added.
Add as many as you like - one for your laptop and one for your phone, for example. Passkeys saved to a password manager or your device's cloud keychain can follow you to your other devices.
If something goes wrong you see "Couldn't create a passkey" with the reason from your device. If the list itself can't load, you see "Couldn't load your passkeys" - refresh the page.
Go to the sign-in page
On avox.com, open Sign in.
Click Sign in with a passkey
It sits under the Google and Facebook buttons. Pick your passkey when your device asks, and confirm. The button shows "Signing in with a passkey" while it works.
You're in
You're signed in and taken on to your dashboard.
The passkey button is on the sign-in page only - you create an account first, then add a passkey.
Click the bin icon next to it in Settings > Security > Passkeys. It's removed straight away and the others keep working. If the device it lives on is lost, remove it here. If removing fails you see "Couldn't remove that passkey".
Your device may keep its own copy of the passkey after you remove it here - it simply stops working for Avox. You can delete it from your device's password or passkey settings too.
Lost every passkey and have no other way in? Email hello@theavoxai.com from your account's email address.
