The guided dashboard tour and each page's own short tour, led by your Avox Avatar: what they show, when page tours start by themselves, how Avox remembers what you've seen, and how to replay them.
Avox has two kinds of tour, both led by your own Avox Avatar:
A tour points at one part of the screen at a time, with a short note beside it. Everything you've seen is saved to your account, so a tour you've finished on one device doesn't play again on another.
Each step shows Step 2 of 8 (for example), a title and a short note, with a progress bar under it.
While a tour is open, the dashboard's own keyboard shortcuts wait until it closes, and Tab stays inside the tour's note. On a phone, the note docks at the top or bottom of the screen.
If your Avox Avatar can't find the part it wants to show on your screen just then, the note says so and the step still explains it. With Reduce motion on (Settings > Personalisation > Appearance), nothing slides or bounces.
The dashboard tour covers what works before a WhatsApp number is connected. It moves between pages by itself, in this order:
The tour fits what you can do:
Pages that need a connected number (Inbox, Templates, Flows and the rest) aren't in the dashboard tour. Each has its own page tour instead.
The dashboard tour never starts by itself. Start it from any of these:
The tour's offer is the first card in the sidebar banner until you finish the tour. It shows only while Show the sidebar banner (Personalisation > Navigation) and Tips and hints (Personalisation > Blobatar) are both on. The X on that card hides the offer for good; Restart the tour or Reset all brings it back. With the offer hidden, or either setting off, the tour is still in the account menu, search and Personalisation.
The tour doesn't open over the onboarding chat, the Switchboard chooser, creating a Switchboard, or the two-factor sign-in step.
Closing the tour saves the step you were on. The sidebar banner then offers Carry on the tour and picks up there. Take the tour in the account menu or search always starts from the beginning.
A page tour explains one page in a few steps, and stays on that page. It only points at what's on your screen: steps for parts you can't see (no data yet, something your role doesn't allow, or a part that doesn't show on a phone) are left out. If nothing on the page can be shown yet, a single note says there isn't much to point at and to ask again once there's something there. Leaving the page ends its tour.
Pages marked "Needs a number" have their tour only once a WhatsApp number is connected, because the page itself opens only then.
A page's tour is also left out if you can't open that page at all.
The first time you open a page with a tour, it starts by itself, once. It waits until:
It waits a moment after the page opens. If you start clicking or typing first, it leaves you alone, and the Show me around button still offers it. If the page takes too long to load, it waits for your next visit.
Until you've seen a page's tour, a small dot pulses on its Show me around button and its label reads "New here? I'll show you around" (with Reduce motion on, the dot stays still). The dot shows only while Tips and hints is on.
Your tour progress is saved to your account, so it's the same on every device you sign in on:
Each page tour starts by itself only once. After that it plays only when you ask.
Open Settings > Personalisation > Tour and reset:
You never need to reset anything to replay one page's tour: click Show me around on that page.
See Personalisation for every setting.
