Start from a ready-written Avox template in any category, or from a Utility template Meta has already verified - browse, search, preview, and use.
The template library gives you two places to start instead of a blank page:
Any Switchboard member (Admin or Manager) can browse the library and start a template from it.
/templates/library, with an Avox library tab (the default) and a
Meta's library tab. Back to Create template returns you to the wizard.Click a card to preview it. On a wide screen the preview sits on the right; on a phone it opens under the card. The preview uses the same phone mockup as the wizard, filled in with example values.
Every Avox template is written in at least English (US); some also in Hindi or Spanish. When a template has more than one, a Language menu above the preview switches the preview, and the template starts in the language you picked. Authentication templates work in every language, because Meta writes their text.
In the wizard you can still change the language. If the text you started with is in another language, the wizard offers to Load the text in your new language. If the template isn't written in that language at all, you see AVX-3401 with buttons to switch back - or keep your language and rewrite the text yourself before submitting.
Pick a template and a language
Click a card, then choose a language if the template offers several.
Click Use this template
Avox saves it as a new draft and opens the wizard at step 2 with everything filled in: name, language, category, header, body, example values, footer and buttons. The summary box reads "From the Avox library:" with the template's title.
Adjust it
Change the name, language or any of the content. Replace placeholder links such as
https://www.example.com/... with your own - the Content step reminds you while one is left.
Submit to Meta
Click Submit to Meta. Avox runs the same checks as any template, and Meta reviews it. It appears in Your templates, usually as Pending review.
Notes on the preview tell you what to expect before you start:
order_confirmation_2, and the preview says so. See Duplicate names.Every Avox template follows Meta's rules: variables numbered in order with an example for each, Meta's length limits, valid buttons, no promotional wording in Utility templates, and an opt-out line ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe") on Marketing ones. Meta still reviews each one, and can re-categorise or reject it like any other template.
The Meta's library tab is Meta's own catalogue of Utility templates. Meta has already verified their content, so a template you create from it starts working instantly. Avox shows Meta's live library, so what you see is always Meta's current catalogue.
Meta's library needs a connected WhatsApp number. Until one is connected, it shows "Connect a WhatsApp number before browsing the template library" in place of templates. See Connections.
The tab is titled Meta's own template library and explains: "Already verified by Meta - pick one and it starts working instantly, no review wait. Utility only, and the content itself is fixed; you just fill in a few blanks."
Pick a template
Click a card on the Templates page, in the wizard, or on the Meta's library tab. Avox saves it as a new draft and opens the wizard at step 2.
Name it and pick its language
Enter a Template name (lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores, up to 512 characters) and choose a Language. A box shows "From Meta's library:" with the library template's name and an Already verified - starts instantly badge, and the wizard's summary bar shows the type as Meta's Library.
Choose the optional pieces
Switch on any of the optional parts Meta offers: Add a contact number, Add a "learn more" link, Add a security recommendation, and Add a track-package link.
Click Start using
Avox creates the template in your WhatsApp Business Account from Meta's library. You see "Ready to use - already verified by Meta" and return to the Templates page, where the new template appears in Your templates.
Meta library templates are always in the Utility category. They have no step 3: the content is Meta's own. Start using stays disabled until the template has a name.
Once created, a library template works like any other in Your templates: it has its own page with insights, it can be sent by an automation's Send a template action once Meta shows it as Approved, and you can delete it from its page.
Meta needs every template in your WhatsApp Business Account to have a unique name and language
pair. The wizard checks your existing templates as you type: a clash shows
AVX-3400 under Template name, with a Use button for the next free
name (such as order_confirmation_2). The same name is fine in a different language. Avox checks
again when you submit, in case another member took the name in the meantime.
Library templates count toward your Switchboard's template limit like any other. The limit is the Switchboard's own plan (or its owner's plan), the same number Avox enforces when you submit. When every slot is used, Use this template, Start using and Create template are disabled and the page shows "You've used X of Y templates. Delete one to create a new one. (AVX-3014)" with a Manage templates link. That link opens your templates with rejected, paused and disabled ones highlighted - they can't be sent as they are, so they're usually the first to delete.
Picking a library template always creates its own new draft, so it never overwrites a template you're already working on. It counts toward the 10-draft limit (see Drafts). If you leave before submitting, resume it from the Templates page's Drafts section.
